8.12.2019

This morning, Jim took the new caliper to Tubbs Garage - hopefully they can work on it tomorrow.  The new windshield doesn't come in until Wednesday.

After that, Jim headed to Home Depot to pick up another piece of plywood and a couple of 2"x8" boards.

Back up on the roof, Jim put sheathing over the ends of the rafters on the sides.  This is the before...

And the after...

Next, he made the boards that will go underneath the fascia board.  Lots of angles to figure out...

Making a cut...

Trying it out - perfect fit!

He made all three of the boards and tacked them into place to make sure he had the right fit.  Then he brought them all down and put a coat of primer on the first side...

There's a little rain in the forecast tonight so Jim wanted to get the underlayment on the side connection to the roof.  He first had to cut away more of the roofing material...

Then he started applying the underlayment.  This was difficult because everything is on an angle while you're working with very sticky material.

But he got both sides done and they look great - most important, it will keep any rain out.

Putting the primer on the other side of the trim boards before calling it a day...

High 81/Low 62 - nice!
