8.23.2021

Back in the shop - Jim did a lot of planing to get the back cabinet pieces to the right thickness...

Using the jointer to straighten edges...

Working on millwork...

Wow - millwork cut in for shelves!

We had some things we've been accumulating to go up in the attic so Jim did that today...

Jim also went over my car today - I'm heading to Ohio to visit my mom tomorrow.  He cleaned the lenses on my lights - check out the difference!

8.22.2021

Back in the wood shop, Jim continued to work on shelving pieces...

Straightening edges...

Pieces in the gluing process...

Jim had to do some clean up work with the power sprayer...

He mixed up a batch of skim coat to start that project...

It was also time for some treadmill cleaning - Jim took the pad outside and power sprayed it and then used the air compressor to clean out the treadmill...

Our new grass is doing well - it's a nice covering of green in most places now.  We're due for some rain from Tropical Storm Henri so hopefully we don't get too much.

Our Craigslist sale went well yesterday; in fact, the fellow wanted another product that Jim had so they met up again late this afternoon in Saratoga.

Jim cutting the shelf piece to size...

Straightening an edge on the jointer...

More pieces gluing...

Jim did more priming of nail holes on the hallway moulding...

As well as around some door frames...

We had to stop early because Jim made a craigslist sale and we met the guy before then heading to church.

8.20.2021

I headed into Saratoga today to do errands, including a stop at Sherwin Williams for more of that Snap Dry door and trim paint - Jim really likes it.  We'll use it for the closet shelving in the second bedroom.  Speaking of which, Jim has more wood gluing for the back unit...

The sides and top rough cut for one unit...

Jim got the wall and floor taped, ready for painting...

Starting to paint...

Taking the tape off...

These areas all done!

Once he was cleaned up from that job, he was back down in the metal shop plastering.

8.19.2021

Jim continued prepping wood today for moulding...

More pieces in the gluing process...

Jim has drawn up plans to make the closet in the second bedroom a closet - so he will be making cabinets and shelves.  This is the width the shelves will be for the back shelving unit...

Attaching the baseboard moulding in the bedroom...

Then the cap moulding...

These wall sections are done with moulding installation!

A coat of primer on the nail holes...

Jim finished off the day doing plastering - had to work around lots of stuff in this area.

We are going to be heading to Saratoga for date night.  ðŸ™‚

We had light rain all day from remnants of Hurricane Fred - thankfully no hard rain or deluges.  So all of our dirt stayed where it was, hopefully along with the grass seed!

8.18.2021

Jim continued preparing wood for moulding this morning...

Gluing...

He then switched to installing the plywood backing pieces in the master bedroom, doing the small areas around the closet...

Using the stud finder on the next wall area...

Installing...

Then it was time for some decorating - we've had some pictures sitting around that it was time to hang them...

A couple more...

This area looks even nicer now!

Then Jim went back down to the metal shop and continued plastering.  This whole wall area is just about ready for skim coating!

Working on the area near the door...

Looks like we are forecast to be in the path of Hurricane Fred tomorrow - hopefully we won't get a deluge of rain that will wash away our new dirt on the triangle!
