4.30.2022

We bought a surge protector/multiple outlet strip for our electronic area in the wood shop bathroom.  Jim is going to mount it and get it fastened down to the side of the cabinet so that he can get rid of some cords when he gets this area repopulated with the internet equipment.  It's currently still in its temporary spot in the neighboring wall cavity.

Jim got the hinges placed and tried out the door for the medicine cabinet.   Going to look great!

Jim had to do a little adjustment work on the hitch but then we headed outside to chip up the rest of our piles - it was a gorgeous day!

Once we got all the chipped piles on the edge of the woods done, we headed down to the bottom of the driveway to clean up the storm damage...

Jim cut down a couple dead trees while we were at it...

The after picture - all cleaned up!

4.29.2022

Mom and I headed into Saratoga this morning - we had some paint and parts pickups for Jim as well as grocery errands.

Jim got the door frames for the medicine cabinet put together and in the gluing process...

After lunch, Jim put my car up on the car lift - the first time he used it without having the extension cord across the floor!

Time to take off the winter wheels and put the summer ones on!

Checking everything out underneath the car...

Next it was time for some lawn mower maintenance - it will be lawn mowing time soon!  He jacked up the mower and took the blades off...

Sharpening the blades...

Then he got the blades back on the Tiger Cub and ready to go!

4.28.2022

After he did his computer work, Jim headed down to the shop to do some work on the medicine cabinet doors - using the planer to thin out the pieces...

Frame pieces are starting to come together...

Jim did a little greasing on the chipper and then we headed up the hill to do some work.  It was pretty breezy so we stayed away from the sides of the woods and worked up on the top.

We first did some clearing of the scrub trees out of the woods...

With Mom supervising, we started chipping...

This tree had fallen a couple years ago - Jim cut up part of it so we could clear out this area a bit...

Doing some clearing...

Then it was time to chip up all that we cut down...

This area is looking fabulous!

4.27.2022

Jim has continued to do computer work in the mornings but he started working on doors parts for the medicine cabinet...

Frame pieces coming to life...

He spent time this afternoon up on the top of the hill, doing some clearing but also cutting up some of our old toe boards and misc plywood pieces to put in the trash.

4.26.2022

We all started the day going to the dentist so we didn't get back home until almost lunchtime.

Jim used the rest of the morning to get some computer work done.  After lunch, he decided to get some moulding painting done.  First, that means lots of taping...

More taping...

He did some taping in the shower and caulked the areas at the top he wanted to do...

He caulked in the little piece of straight end moulding in the hall...

More taping...

Painting time...

Jim did the front edge of this area...

Taking the tape off of this corner area...

Then brush cleanup time!

4.25.2022

I had my yearly physical this morning and Mom came along, so Jim took advantage of the quiet morning to get some computer work done.  He also worked on attaching the pencil trays in his desk drawers.

Once again, we took advantage of the beautiful weather to do some chipping work outside.  For some of the bigger trees at the top of the hill, Jim first had to use his chainsaw to cut some of the branches...

Starting to chip...

Some of these trees were really big - Jim had to pull back some so that the chipper wouldn't stall.

Then we moved over to the side and started working down the hill...

It was a bit breezy - Jim kept readjusting both the position of the chipper and the chute so that all the debris wouldn't fill up the cab of the Bobcat or blow back on us or Mom, who was sitting in her lawn chair observing!

Sure looks good!

Jim has to spend time afterwards cleaning up the chipper and then taking things apart and packing them back inside the pole barn.

4.24.2022

After our traditional Sunday morning blueberry pecan pancakes, Mom and I headed out to pick up a battery for the chipper.  We just bought one last year but it's totally dead.  We stopped at the store for a few things as well.

Jim had gotten the chipper all greased and the mulching blades sharpened.  He got the hitch out for the Bobcat and got it all hooked up.  Once we got home with the battery, he got it installed and we were ready to try it out.

Mom's ready to go for a ride!

Starting to chip - the chipper started right up and worked great!

Mom even took a turn putting some small branches in the chipper - Jim has his arm up to protect her face from any stray branches!

This is somewhat of a before picture in this area...

Jim and I have good teamwork going - I drag the branches over to him so he can chip them.

Wow - what a difference!

We got the whole side done so we moved up to the top of the hill to work on all the piles there...

Beautiful!  It just looks so good getting all the undergrowth and scrub trees cleared out.
