It was pretty much an all-day rain day.  I had errands to do in the morning, and after lunch, Jim started working on his rainy day list.

First up was fastening the toe boards on the island to the island itself.  That required taking everything inside out, including the shelves...

Jim had to take the doors off to get the bottom shelf out and be able to work...

Jim had to remove one set of hinges as well...

Then it's fastening the toe boards to the cabinet - he had put holes in the steel when he made it, so that was perfect.

All four sides fastened and now it's time to reverse all those steps.  Bottom shelf going back in...

Next rainy day project was to change out switches in the auto bay.  When he added the programmable switch to control the outside lights, he only had almond switches, and he only had an almond switch for the gray box.  Lights off, time to switch...

Oops...he forgot that the right switch is a three-way switch, so he'll have to order one of those...

But it's looking spiffy!

 Then it was the day for deliveries - we had three kind of big deliveries that literally came within less than 10 minutes of each other, but we didn't know that and didn't want to leave the box too full, so Jim ended up making 3 trips down to the box to get everything!

I'm forever grateful to Jim for being such a wonderful dad - he has my undying gratitude forever for all he has done.  Love you, dear!

Yesterday, went by in a blur before we went to church.  We did get our new wind vanes in the mail yesterday, so Jim attached them today...

Beautiful - glad we have this back again!

One of our transplanted trees didn't make it.  We had gotten this one from close to the rock wall, so even though Jim was diligent about keeping it watered, it didn't have a great root system.  We'll find a good replacement in the fall, but Jim cut it down today...

Two of our soffit vents in the shed somehow fell out over the winter, so Jim replaced them today...

Kyle came up this afternoon to celebrate Father's Day, so it was so nice to see him.  He and Jim went to Lake George for dinner.  So glad we got to spend some time with him!

This afternoon, Jim worked on the other storage cabinet that he moved into the pole barn.  The shelves were pretty stained.  Not that it matters, but it's always nice to start off with things feeling clean.  The two shelves on the left have already been sprayed with cleaner and scrubbed - getting ready to do the one on the right...

After finally getting some rain, the grass really got long so he spent the rest of his time mowing!

Rain and storms were scheduled for the day and they actually happened!  We had lots of wind and rain, but it all blew out and the sun is shining brightly as I write this!

It was an obvious inside work day.  Jim finished up attaching the wheel assembly on the other side of the blasting cabinet... 

Now he can easily move it around...

Vacuum back in place and all ready to go!

Jim used his grinder to cut through the steel rings he made...

An inside work day.  Jim had to sharpen the chains on both of the chain saws...

His wheels came in for the blasting cabinet!

First step to attach them was to get the end off the floor.  Jim lifted it up and I slid a piece of wood underneath...

Jim had to drill holes in the cabinet to place the wheel assembly - this side is all done!

Time was running out, but we got the other side up off the floor and Jim started working on this side...

I had to have a procedure done at the hospital yesterday, just as a follow up from another procedure.  Isn't that the way it goes as we get older?  Everything looks good but it occupied a lot of the day.  

Jim did get a little time to finish bending the steel for the wine rack...

He has been working on the getting the newer cabinet ready to go in the pole barn.  He's going to use this to store car/machine parts and fluids.

Because there are just a few containers of fluids!

He also made two Craigslist sales and was able to take care of both of them at the same time in the late afternoon - nice when that works out.

Today, I spent all morning running errands and after lunch, we decided to go play outside in the woods.  There were downed trees in this side area that we wanted to clean up...

Two trees had fallen different directions so we wanted to get them cleaned up...

Plus, we accumulated quite a few more piles for chipping...

These trees also came down at some point so we worked on dragging some branches out.  Jim needs to sharpen the chain on his bigger chainsaw before we tackle these trunks...
