8.1.2019

It was a wonderful sleeping night last night - 59 degrees when we woke up.  With the cool breezes coming in the windows, Jim and I put sweatshirts on this morning!  We'll definitely take that for the first day of August.

Jim continued work on the steel for the dormer - he made the clip angles for the rafters...

Jim was showing me how they will attach to the rafter...

Once the steel work was basically done, Jim wanted to do a little truck work.  Unfortunately, the battery was dead so he had to use the Bobcat to take the generator and battery charger down to the truck before he could bring it up the driveway.  He was investigating a squealing noise...

Then it was time for a little truck beautification.  Jim scrubbed the wheels - definitely needed a before picture but they look so nice now.

Then he power washed the outside...

And the inside...

Looks spiffy inside now too!

Since the steel is basically ready to go, Jim started working on the stairwell part to the puzzle.  He pulled off the outer pieces of insulation.

Then he put a screw at the bottom inside corner...

And the opposite corner as well.

Then he took lots of measurements and, using the screw marks on the outside, was able to transfer the shape of this area to the stairwell roof.

At this point, it was too late to start ripping into the roofing, so he stopped and switched to grass cutting.
High 80/Low 53 - beautiful!
