8.15.2019

I was up and out early - I had an 8:00 appointment at Sam's Club in Albany to get my tires rotated.  Always a nice drive and got a little shopping done there and afterwards in Saratoga.

When I got home, Jim had been very busy.  He made a temporary soffit piece to keep any wildlife out until he gets everything buttoned up.  He ordered a different type of soffit for this application - it's supposed to come in soon.

But the really hard part was that he had to spend a big chunk of time with his body totally contorted to fit inside the dormer.  He had to take two layers of titanium underlayment off, including taking out all the staples, and then had to try and take out all the screws from the sheathing.  He was able to get most of them out - the rest he'll have to brute force when he works from inside.

He also got the new dormer window out of the box and decided to take it apart and get it stained before installing.  First section done...

Taping up the other section...

 Then staining...

All done for now.

Jim found our roll of 3' wide house wrap and cut a piece to go on the outside...

 Stapling it in place...

 Taping the edges...

Looking good!

Tubbs finally called about the truck.  Jim went up last night after they were closed and the window hadn't been replaced - it was supposed to be done yesterday.  Jim was also worried that they might charge him more for the brake job to make up for having to buy the new windshield, but he was very pleasantly surprised with the cost - plus they did the state inspection included!  We're very happy to have the truck home where it belongs for now!

It's a Holy Day, so we are off to church!
High 78/Low 61 - gorgeous!
