When I got home, Jim had been very busy. He made a temporary soffit piece to keep any wildlife out until he gets everything buttoned up. He ordered a different type of soffit for this application - it's supposed to come in soon.
But the really hard part was that he had to spend a big chunk of time with his body totally contorted to fit inside the dormer. He had to take two layers of titanium underlayment off, including taking out all the staples, and then had to try and take out all the screws from the sheathing. He was able to get most of them out - the rest he'll have to brute force when he works from inside.
He also got the new dormer window out of the box and decided to take it apart and get it stained before installing. First section done...
Taping up the other section...
All done for now.
Jim found our roll of 3' wide house wrap and cut a piece to go on the outside...
Stapling it in place...
Looking good!
It's a Holy Day, so we are off to church!
High 78/Low 61 - gorgeous! |
