8.13.2019

The forecast was for a mostly rainy day, so Jim planned for an inside work day.  He continued work on the auto bay attic door - here he's using his router for the hinge inset...

Putting the hinges on the frame.  He had to do a little resizing of the frame to make everything fit.  He wasn't exactly sure how he was going to do this door when he did the door frame.

But he wants it so that the door swings inside so that there's no chance of it blowing open.  Trying it out...

A perfect fit...

And works great too!

Now to resize the foam to fit inside...

He wanted such a precise fit that he used his sander to take just a little bit off!

Trying it out...

Foam fits precise now!  Jim has to work out the back panel but for now it's up and operational.  Plus, he thinks he worked out all the design issues so that he can make another one for our master bedroom attic access.

Jim also had to go to Tubbs today - they had fixed the front brake.  Jim has to return the core to get his deposit back - that will require cleaning it and getting all the oil out so it can be shipped.

But when Jim was out in the 4Runner, he could smell mouse in the car!  Ugh.  It's so hard to keep animals out.  In Ohio, Jim had to make screens in various parts of the engine to keep them out.  He found a nest in the air filter so had to clean all that out.  Plus he found traces of mouse in the back of the car, so he did some vacuuming and cleaning.  And spraying lots of Febreeze!
High 77/Low 56 - just a little rain in the afternoon
