Jim spent the morning working on siding - he had to make another corner board and flashing as well as flashing on the other side of the trim board before he could work on putting up siding pieces.
Then he got ready to install the side trim boards for the newly-installed window.
Installing the trim boards...
He got the measurement for the trim for the top of the window and got that piece made. We had to prime it so it can be installed soon. The window looks great though - it's been boarded up for so long that it's quite different to see the window in.
We took a couple breaks in the afternoon to don Jim's welding helmet to watch the eclipse. It was a gorgeous day with not a cloud in the sky. We were only supposed to get about 66% coverage in our area. It was still fun to see!
We got back to drywall in the afternoon. We put up the full 12' piece on the bedroom wall...
Then the bottom piece. Here Jim is cutting out the receptacle box...
This wall is all done!
The next piece we did was on the west side of the bedroom. This piece had the slope of the front wall as well as an outlet and the rest of the window so took some careful measuring and cutting.
Putting it in place...
Getting it all fastened down...
Cutting out another receptacle box.
Then cutting out the window...
All done and Jim is vacuuming the dust out of the window area!
Next was the corner piece...
Then we did the first piece of the knee wall...
The second bedroom is really looking amazing - it's a room now!
