Jim did lots of siding prep work this morning to get ready to work on the back corner.  He made this complicated flashing to go over the corner piece he made.

Then he made the board for mounting another electric pull box.  He had to use trim board and back it with a piece of plywood to make it the correct thickness.  Then he had to make the cuts on the bottom to fit over the bottom.  Then it all had to be primed and painted well.

At lunchtime, Jim took a trip to Drywall Center - and ordered our drywall!!  Such a big, exciting step - although scary too!  Depending on the weather and when the truck comes in, hopefully we can take delivery either Wednesday or Thursday.  Jim has lots to do to get ready - figure out the best placement for the stacks and what sizes go in what area.

To begin to get ready, we had to move things out of the way in the wood shop because there will be drywall stored there also.  We moved a workbench over to the other side of the shop and cleaned up the corner where Jim wants the drywall.

Then we had to empty out the apartment of all the insulation and tools.  Look how amazing everything looks!

In the afternoon, we got to start on the siding in the back.  Lots of prep work in the beginning to get ready.  Jim is putting up the corner block...

Then the special flashing fits right over the top...

Putting the flashing on the side next to the trim...

Next is the space at the bottom over the ledger board...

Then the starter plank...

Finally the first piece of siding!

Making good progress...

End-of-the-day picture...

The last few days we have seen some crazy big spider webs...in the sunlight they are really pretty (if you overlook the creepy spider part).

High 78/Low 58 - beautiful!
