Since Jim had to do a little grading for the drywall truck, the grade wasn't as friendly in case it rained. With rain in the forecast this evening, Jim cut the grade a bit more to funnel water off into the woods as opposed to down in our trench.
He got quite a bit of siding work done this morning!
After lunch, he went back up on the scaffolding to put the top trim on the window. It is now ready for flashing and then we can finish putting the shingles on!
Then it was back to drywall. Jim first used a cut-off piece to finish the ceiling in the second bedroom.
All done!
Jim used pancake screws when working with the steel studs so that they would be as flat as possible. However, the pancake screw plus the flange on the receptacle box made that area a bit too high.
Jim had some smaller metal screws that went in flat against the flange. However, he first has to drill through the metal because these screws aren't self-drilling. It's all doable and will make for a better finish. Except that there are so many receptacles! Jim will just do them as he goes along but we'll definitely have to find more of those screws!
The next piece of drywall was for the wall when you walk into the bedroom. Jim was able to use the piece of drywall that got crushed from the forks when they loaded it on the truck. However, since it was originally intended to go on the other wall horizontally and I had already marked it, the new markings made for quite the confusing group of lines on the piece!
Putting the piece into place...
Fastening it down...
Cutting out the receptacle box...
Next piece had an interesting angle, a light box and a receptacle - lots of different cuts and measuring involved. Plus, Jim had to do some electric work and take off the plug and light box before he could install the drywall.
Cutting out the receptacle on this piece...
All done and cleaning out the boxes...
We were able to use a cut-off from that piece to finish the corner piece...
This room is getting closed in! Jim finished getting the electric work done before calling it a night!
