Hope everyone had a very blessed and safe Christmas! Jim and I spent the day at Angel (appropriate!).
Jim went out for a little bit before lunch to get a few tasks done. He worked on getting the broken part of the bolt out of the other end of the part - that took awhile but he managed to get it out. Not sure if the Bobcat store will be open tomorrow to try and get a new bolt or if we'll have to wait until Tuesday. Jim ordered his new bandsaw and it's being delivered Thursday, so hopefully he can get it all back working well by then.
After lunch, it was back in the apartment working on ceiling joists...
On quite a few of the joists, Jim has to not only has to cut the end where it connects to the rafter on an angle but also has to cope the edges to make it lay flat against the rafter.
Putting the next joist in place...
Then the next...
Our ceiling is really taking shape!
Putting up another joist...
The joists that connect to the other ceiling joists are flat on both sides but then Jim has to make and attach a clip angle so that he can attach the joist.
Putting the next joist up...
Fastening it in place...
Next one...
I know there is so much steel now in the apartment that it's hard to see what's what, but this is the view of the ceiling joists from the kitchen...they are all done except for the very last one that will connect to the bedroom wall.
We had a lot of fun working today - hope everyone else had a fun day too!
