Kyle and Julia headed out this morning for the next leg of their Christmas tour! We certainly enjoyed spending time with them and hope they have safe travels and lots of fun on the rest of their trip!
Jim's old gloves looked like zombie skin, according to Kyle!
So thankfully, one of Jim's presents from Kyle & Julia was a new pair of gloves!
Jim went out this morning to do a little cleanup from the last few days, putting tools back into the apartment from the downstairs work.
Then he decided to plow the driveway - we got a couple new inches yesterday morning and he didn't want things to get slushy and then frozen again. In order to store the Bobcat in the shop so that it will fit in the same bay as the 4Runner, Jim has to take the bucket off. He got the Bobcat out of the shop and went to attach the bucket - and it wouldn't attach. He had to get out and take things apart in order to investigate. He found a big bolt had sheared right off! So no snow plowing today. He'll have to get into the Bobcat store and get the part.
After all that he came home for lunch and then we headed back out. The first thing we did was to attach a piece of track to the living room side of the hallway at the height of the ceiling joists for the kitchen.
Attaching it to the studs...
Putting up the next piece of track...
Out came the laser level so that Jim could mark the exact spot that the hallway joists will attach to the kitchen joists.
Marking the spot from the laser...
Then Jim measured the length of the first joist, went downstairs to cut it and make a clip angle for attaching. Here he's attaching the clip angle to the joist.
Putting the joist in place...
Attaching it to the track...
Then he cut the next joist and put it up in place...
He didn't level or attach this last joist - he'll do that tomorrow. It was time to head home - we'll go to Christmas Eve Mass tonight.
