After our Lowe's trip last night and our discussions on bathroom fixtures, he did some bathroom layouts with the information we gathered. It's kind of hard to tell from this picture, but he marked the shower area and the sink, as well as the door swing and where we want our storage area to go. It was really helpful and we think we have a good plan now. We'll probably be buying the sink and shower pan soon to make sure things will fit and Jim can work the plumbing.
Jim came home for lunch to warm up a bit and then we headed back out afterwards. Jim got the top wall track cut and mounted.
Standing in our attic space to fasten the stud to the top track.
Then putting up the first stud in this wall section...
Jim had to make clip angles to attach the top of the track to the rafters.
Putting up another stud...
Then the last stud on this section...
Next, Jim had to make blocking in between the rafters. He got the blocking pieces attached and then cut the mounting plate that will go in between - that gives Jim an area to mount the next wall section.
We feel good about the progress we made on a day not fit for man or beast - and definitely not for working with all this steel in a frozen building! Thank goodness for little heaters to warm up next to!
