Jim debated but decided to list the compactor for sale on Craigslist.  Our soil hardly needs compacting and Jim has used it for everything he will need it for until we build the house.  He listed it for just what he paid for it - and someone responded almost immediately!  The guy came this morning and picked it up.  He was here for almost 1-1/2 hours chatting.  He is building a pole barn as well but he had a sad tale - they had just moved into their new house and it caught fire and burned completely to the ground.  They were safe but he showed Jim a picture with only the chimney remaining.  That is such a scary thought - and one reason why Jim has used as many fire-resistant materials as possible.  Anyway, it was a great sale and this guy even said Jim could rent the compactor from him if Jim has a need for one in the future.

Jim continued making more pole barn flashing...

Then turned his attention to the next major project - building the steel frame for our banquette table in the kitchen!  He is starting to make frame pieces...

Things are coming into shape...

Setting up the metal bandsaw to cut bevels in the top pieces...

Finished bevels...

Next, Jim headed outside to take the frames off the concrete!

 Looks good!

Cleaning up the edges a bit...

Then working to take the frame apart on the generator pad...

Taking the side off...

The wood Jim used for the frames was old and had bug holes in it which kind of bonded it to the side and required some extra strength to get them off...

Beautiful!  Our generator will look so nice on this pad!

Jim to evict the bird nest from the pole barn - we hadn't seen any sign of them today.

The proverbial empty nest!

Jim had to cut some grass to close out his work day.
