6.8.2019 - 2 more cabinets!

So exciting - time to hang up the next 2 kitchen cabinets that Jim made!  First step was to install the ledger board that he made...

Same on the other side...

Then he brought in the first cabinet...

Mounting it on the wall - thank goodness for the blocking Jim put behind the wall!

That went so well that he brought up the next cabinet and got it hung up too!

Back down in the shop, Jim cut the hinge location in the side of the door.  We have to go pick out door hardware before he proceeds to cutting out the holes for the hinges, since placement of the holes can differ.

Doing some sanding...

Then after lunch, Jim went out and dug up another bucketful of dirt and brought it to the side of the pole barn.  Then we filled up 5 gallon pails...

And Jim dumped them behind the pole barn against the skirt.  Unfortunately, he had to work around the scaffolding and on a slope but at least he was able to place the dirt exactly where he wanted it.  Unfortunately, when we are able to take the scaffolding down, Jim will have to dig out the feet a bit but at least then we'll be taking down the scaffolding for good!

Making good progress...

Because the water is going to roll off the roof right down on this area when it rains, Jim wanted to put rocks here to help prevent erosion - just like we are doing in the back of the carriage house.  So he brought up a bucketful of rocks from our pile...

Then I carried rocks from the bucket back to Jim where he placed them on the slope.

Time for another bucket, this time on the other side.  (Wow - check out that sky!)

Jim placing the rocks along the back.  He wants to get a little more dirt against the skirt on this section so he kept the rocks back a little bit.

 Off to church...
High 77/Low 47 - beautiful!
