6.7.2019

Hopefully everyone started their day with a doughnut - Jim did!  An apple fritter from the local Stewart's, to be precise!

Once he was finished celebrating Donut Day, he headed into the workshop.  He moved the door from the workbench and stood it up - looks so good!

Then we moved the other cabinet over to the bench - Jim wanted them to sit and cure a little longer before hanging them up.

His next job was to make a jig for cutting in the hinge placement for the doors.  He used a piece of steel so that it would be nice and straight.

Making sure the jig lines up perfectly with the hinge placement on the door jamb...

Then he sat the door on the door feet he had made previously and used his jig to mark the hinge placement.

He has this cool jig to enable him to perfectly cut in the hinge shape.

It was a beautiful day so we decided to work outside and tackle some of our chipping piles.  In order to continue backfilling around the skirt, we need this area next to the side of the pole barn clean.

Then Jim took the chipper up the driveway and around to the back of the carriage house.

This was the pile we had dragged up from the woods after they cut the tree down on the side of the house.

Doing the chipping...

Looks so pretty and clean now!

Jim ventured into the woods a bit more - you can see down into this area from inside so he wanted to cut down this undergrowth.

All those leaves made for some green mulch flying in the air!

We then took the chipper down to the end of the driveway.  There were some things we had cut down before and some branches that had fallen, plus Jim cut down some of the small trees that make mowing more difficult.

Blowing off the chipper after all its hard work!

By the time he got that cleaned up, there wasn't enough time to start the backfill project so he headed out to cut more grass.

High 78/Low 50 - beautiful!
