6.15.2019

Jim had to come up with a way to paint the backside of the door without ruining the front side!  Since there is always overspray, even with this new gun, if it was sitting directly on the workbench, paint would pool underneath.  So he came up with these runners that he attached to the top and bottom of the door.

Then he flipped it over...

Time for sanding...

And finally time for painting!

It turned out beautifully!  Jim always says that the actual painting is the glory part - however, that part takes about 5 minutes.  It takes about 2 hours to do the prep work and then the cleanup!  He is meticulous cleaning out his paint gun which definitely pays off the next time he uses it.

In the afternoon, Jim wanted to hand pick some rocks to fill in a couple areas of the front wall...

This whole area really looks nice now...

As does the back of the house - a different angle looking up the building.

Jim used the Bobcat to back drag the dirt back here to loosen it up so that we could throw some grass seed down.  We'd like to get some grass going back here to help with erosion.

Spreading the seed...

Raking it in...

Using up the rest of the grass seed in the spreader around the tank area.

Jim wanted to do a little grading outside of the stairwell door - you can see that it has a few humps in it.

But not any more!  Looks great.  We'll be laying out placement options for the generator in this area soon.

This day goes by quickly - Jim used his remaining time at the end of the day to experiment with some special flashing he'll need for the pole barn.

 Off to church!
High 76/Low 58 - windy again!
