6.11.2019

It was a Camelot day for sure - last evening and all night we had a very light rain.  It sounded very gentle through the trees.  But it was beautiful when we woke up and was so nice all day.  It's pine pollen season so I'm hoping that the rain helped wash a little off the trees.  We really haven't seen much sign of it on the windowsills, although Jim saw some on his car window yesterday.

I ran into Saratoga for some errands and to pick up the door hinges and hardware at Lowe's.  Jim ran errands in the morning as well, going to ABC Roofing to pick up a roll of flashing for the pole barn.

After lunch, Jim wanted to test out the door size and hinge placement.  He first started attaching the hinges to the door jamb.

All done...

He attached the hinges to the door and then brought it in for testing...

Putting the hinges together (more difficult using 3 hinges but 3 hinges look so good!)...

Wow - amazing perfect fit and it looks so good!

It looks great from the hallway too!  Obviously, the door will have to come down for finishing but we are leaving it up for the moment.

After that, it was back out to work on the rock wall...

Placing rocks...

Jim realized that he needed to put gravel down before continuing on so he dumped the load of rocks back down at the pile and brought up a load of gravel...

Then it was back to rocks...

Moving some giant rocks...

Another load of gravel...

And back to rocks...  (check out that sky!)

Just about done and it's looking great!

We wanted to spend some time picking up rocks at the end of the day - after digging up this area for the underground tank, there are a lot of rocks that have appeared on the surface.  We needed to get them picked up so that Jim can mow this area better.

We also did some strategizing about placement for the house generator.  It has to be at least 10' away from the other utilities and we have snow falling off the roof to think about too.
High 70/Low 45 - perfect!
