Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day - special wishes go out to my mom back in Ohio - we love you!
It was a beautiful day at the property, although some clouds and pretty good wind blew in as the afternoon went on, making things pretty chilly.
This was the first day that you can start to see the hardwoods leaf out in between the tall pines. Before long, we'll lose our mountain view until the leaves fall. Which is still good - we feel really secluded on top of our mountain then!
Jim worked on more flashing this morning. He had to make the first piece of valley flashing as well as the piece of drip edge that goes underneath. It's a complicated flashing arrangement at the bottom to make sure that everything works correctly.
First piece of valley flashing...
Jim got the drip edge fastened down and then the valley flashing...
Next he finished up the rake board up to the peak and of course this required some ladder use on the scaffolding too.
Attaching the drip edge guides all the way up...
The two copper shoulders look really good at the end of the day!
At this point, we have to change our focus and start working on getting the rake boards on the west wall. Unfortunately, this is going to be difficult and Jim has not been looking forward to figuring out the best way to approach this. First step is to set up scaffolding in front of the auto bay, so in the short time remaining at the end of the day, he started working on that.
