But now it's time for a roof jack, so that makes things easier. Time for a little roof jewelry on this side too!
A great view from the top! You can really see how everything comes together.
This roof is steeper - Jim is practically vertical again as he measures and chalks the next line.
More snow guards...
Again, working vertically on this side!
Time to bring up the last piece of copper drip edge on the front!
Putting the drip edge into place...
The forecast for the day was for some spotty showers - which is what we experienced this afternoon. It would spit a few raindrops and then stop. But close to 4:00, there was a brief shower and Jim decided to call it a day on the roof. The surface is really slick when it gets wet - we don't need to take any unnecessary risks!
So here's the end-of-the-day shot...lots of progress!
Jim had set up the sawhorses outside and the plan was for me to start painting some of the new trim boards. But with the iffy weather, we put plastic down in the shop and decided to paint a few inside at the end of the day.
We color-matched the paint to the color of our windows - it looks like it will be really nice. We'll have a small fortune invested in paint with the way the prices are now, but we want a good quality paint so that we don't have to repeat this process any time soon!
After Jim got the paint supplies cleaned up, he did some more work on the truck parts and put the other caliper together with the brake pads. All of that work is just about done. He also worked on the regulator for the water - Jim thought he might need to replace it after the winter weather, but he got it working again.
