Jim brought up some of the roof rafter pieces - these are going to be another challenge! They will be put up with no nails, no metal fasteners.
Jim measured and started cutting the first side to length...
Jim cut the other three rafters to size. Then measuring and marking the first cut - a shoulder cut that will sit on and extend over the top beam...
First three rafter cuts done - I told Jim they look like they came out of a factory they are so identical!
Cutting the last one - he can shave such paper-thin pieces with the chisel to make it perfectly flat...
The opposite side will be a finger joint - Jim is measuring and marking...

It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so Jim put his plastic pieces back over the top joints for protection, then had to clean up and put away all his tools and equipment.
