Jim wanted to temporarily attach some old planks to the top of the pavilion so that he can work up there...

He built a temporary wall structure to help hold up the first roof rafter...

Dragging it up on top...

Manipulating it into place...

Once the wall was up, Jim brought the first two rafters over to the pavilion...

Whew...moving the heavy timbers onto the roof...

Putting the other one up...

He connected the rafters and then lifted it up...

It popped perfectly into place!

Moving up the next two rafters...

The next step will be to peg the rafters to the beam, but that would have required bringing lots of different tools out and there wasn't enough time.  So Jim got some straps and strapped the ends to the beams just for extra security...

Strapping down the other side.  He also attached a brace to the side of the rafters.

High 71.1/Low 45.4 - beautiful!
