Jim did more brace work this morning, using the bandsaw to cut the curve...
Jim got things ready to work on the pavilion - he took the other set of scaffolding down and got all his tools and equipment ready. After lunch, he started taking down the temporary braces...
Removing the other brace...
Then he was able to maneuver the Bobcat into the space...
Then he could start carving out the shoulder pocket...
He definitely has to maneuver himself in various positions to be able to get a good angle for this work...
He had started this shoulder pocket, but had to finish it today, working among the trees...
Taking down the big steel beam...
Then he put the forks on the Bobcat and went down to get the first beam...
Along the way, he modified the design of the shoulder pockets, so he needed to cut just a bit off each end of the beam...
Cutting the other side...
Then lifting the beam up...
Maneuvering it into the pavilion...
Getting it into position...
Putting the brace in place...
Brace on the other side...
It's such an amazing feeling when all at once, everything snaps into place!
Wow - look how great this looks!
Time to get ready for church, but a great day!
