9.1.2023

Jim had lots of computer work to do this morning and then he headed into the shop to work on more braces...

We headed outside after lunch and Jim got busy marking all the locations for the starter peg holes...

Then he drilled the starter holes...

Using a brace in all the mortise pockets to check for fit and tweaking when necessary...

Next it was back to working on the shoulder pockets on the beams...

He made yet another jig to simulate how the beam will sit on the shoulder - it's perfect!

A view of the shoulder pocket from on top...

Jim had to work off the Bobcat bucket to start on the front middle shoulder pocket...

Including standing on the bucket tip!

Once the two middle pockets were done, Jim decided to move the beams from the scaffolding...

He took them down to our timber stash...

Then we took down the small scaffolding as well as the scaffolding in the first section of the pavilion.  In order to put these next beams up, Jim needs to get the Bobcat in the side of the pavilion.

The pavilion looks so good cleared out a bit!

High 74.1/Low 47.5 - beautiful!
