10.3.2017

Today marks Jim's 365th straight day of working with no days off!  The last time he didn't work was when we went on our crazy road trip in late September/early October to sell the dozer blade, pick up new forks, and pick up our stored tools.  Crazy to think he's worked a year straight!  Of course, the count will continue with no days off in the foreseeable future!

Jim worked this morning mostly on making baffles and figuring out ventilation patterns for the stairwell.  Of course, this involves drilling more holes.

Then he made the first piece of door trim...

Fastening it in place...

Fitting the side pieces...

Once Jim got both sides of the door trim made, I primed the edges and we set it out in the sun to dry.

Then later on, I painted them gray.  Jim later got the holes predrilled so they'll be ready to put up tomorrow.

Jim cut and put insulation in the back of the dropped ceiling area where the valley rafters meet, just to make sure everything is all tight.

Then we're ready for the next piece...

Fastening it into place...

The next project was to get the wires out for the thermostat.  Jim first figured out the placement and drilled a hole...

He then made a piece of plywood mounting board to go on the inside of the drywall and put some glue to hold it in place.

Then I held it in place from the backside while Jim drilled a couple of holes to hold it in place.

Then he fastened the rest of the board down.  This will make a nice mounting area when Jim goes to install the thermostat.

Wires through - ready to go!

With that done, Jim was able to put the next piece of drywall up.  Here he's cutting out the media box...

Finishing fastening...

The drywall is all done on this kitchen wall!

The next piece of drywall was a really difficult one - the valley rafter.  Jim first cut a piece of drywall to fit and then cut the notch out...

Up on the lift and going into place...

A perfect fit!

Jim then put as many screws in as possible and brought the lift down.

The next step was to cut the angle.  Jim scored the drywall using his square...

Then broke the piece of drywall and cut through the rest of the paper.

It turned out perfectly!  Jim was really happy with how it all came out.

All done!
