10.18.2017

Jim continues to spend mornings doing lots of different tasks - this morning he got the knee braces attached to the upper brackets!  They are going to look so good.  The next step will be to drill through the brick to attach the lower part of the brace.

He also continued filling in the cuts in the utility room - he had run out of the adhesive but picked up more at Lowe's yesterday.  This task is all done - just needs to completely dry and we'll be ready to paint.

Jim also did a little insulating in the stairwell too...

After lunch, it was back to working outside.  It was a gorgeous day - wish we could special order another month or so just like today!  But we're grateful for every day so no complaints.

This is the drain pipe Jim picked up last night at Lowe's....

We had to do a little crumbing of the area for the next section of pipe...

Two more sections in...

For the next section, Jim has to make provisions for the water softener backwash to drain into the pipes.  He added a Y fitting to the next section...

Gluing a cap on the end...

As you can see, Jim had made a hole in the cap that the Pex for the water softener to feed through.  It was such a precise fit that we didn't even need to tape it (but we did!).

The run looks amazing!  We have to get some different elbow fittings to carry the pipe around the corner but we're making great progress.

Time to start backfilling...Jim brought more dirt back.

Always lots of hand shoveling to make sure just dirt and no rocks are around the pipe.

Jim had to make more dirt...

Burying the pipe...

Bring back more dirt and doing some grading...

We have the pipe buried as much as we can, so now Jim is just doing some grading.

Making all the dirt is really shaping the driveway!  Jim spent some time working on the edges and grade after I left.

The warmer temps brought all the ladybugs out to play again today!  They were just covering the building.

High 65/Low 41 - gorgeous!
