My car was due for its state inspection by the end of the month, so this morning I followed Jim to our favorite local repair shop. They were able to get me in right away so that block was checked. I headed from there to pick up an order from Lowe's as well as a few other errands and Jim headed to the property. It was forecast to be an on/off drizzly day so Jim planned an inside work day.
He did more insulation work in the stairwell...
He also redid the angle that he had originally put at the top of the wall and then got the first piece of drywall up on the ceiling!
Back up in the apartment, he did more insulation in the master bedroom...
Last piece of insulation done in this room!
We then got the next piece of drywall ready to go. This had to be cut from a 12' piece, so definitely harder to maneuver. That's Jim behind the drywall getting it into place!
Jim (and his shadow!) making the initial cut for the light box...
Piece is up in place and Jim is cutting the receptacle box...
Finishing the last of the fasteners...
Putting the next piece up in place...
Fastening it down...
Cutting out the door...
Then the smoke detector box...
All done!
Then Jim did the last little ceiling piece and two of the small pieces around the attic door opening.
While Jim worked on fastening the drywall, I took apart one of the bundles of loose insulation that I picked up at Lowe's this morning. He had used all the rest for layering in the attic - he'll now be ready to continue that project, much to his dismay!
