Thankfully, we didn't get all the forecasted snow yesterday - it probably was about 10-12". It snowed on/off most of today too but didn't really accumulate much more. Jim wasn't sure he would be able to get up the driveway, but he powered through. Once he got to the carriage house though, all the snow from the roof had fallen in front of the garage door, so getting the Bobcat out to shovel wasn't a good option. So no plowing today - he'll see how it is tomorrow.
So he worked in the control room this morning - he got the armor cable in from the electric box to the furnace and then strung wire.
You can see the wire is up into the furnace and ready to be connected up!
For inspection, Jim is not doing anything with heat to the metal shop. But he needed to make the connections and be able to shut them off until he is ready to attach the pump. He also didn't want to have to redo a lot of plumbing when he's ready for that step, so he designed this run so that he can shut it off, he'll cap the top and it will be good until he's ready to make it operational.
Then he put the auto-fill valve on. Originally he had the top of the tank plumbed a little differently because he thought he could come straight out to the auto-fill valve. But you can see that it takes up some room plus Jim needs to be able to access the filter at the top. So he made the connection using some brass elbows that he had from his dad (nice memory!).
In the afternoon, he headed back up to the apartment and spent the rest of the day sanding in the kitchen - whew!
