3.2.2018

Well...this saying certainly came true today...our nor'easter bomb cyclone hit and it was a doozy!  A few pictures of the day...

Jim first had to tackle the car in the parking lot of the apartment - we easily had 15" of snow by this point in the morning.

That's a lot of snow!

You can see our parking lot is pretty well inundated with snow...

However...it sure was a gorgeous snow.  Because it was so thick and heavy, it really coated all of the trees.  This is the road in front of our property.

Jim was met with a literal wall of snow at the end of the driveway from the plows - he had to park the truck partially on the road while he then walked up the driveway in snow up to his knees!  Now, our driveway is not an easy hike in good weather - let alone in 2' of snow!  He said he felt like he had put in a full day's worth of work just getting to the building!

Once he got inside, he got ready to plow.  Of course, he had to first unearth the bucket for the Bobcat.  This picture shows how much snow he had to shovel by hand just to find the connections to the Bobcat.

Finally he got the bottom of the driveway cleared enough that he could bring the 4Runner off the road.

Jim said this was the hardest plowing he's done.  This was a very heavy, wet snow so that makes plowing really difficult in itself.  Add to that the fact that the driveway was very soft because of the warmer temps we have had.  But...it's all done.  Thankfully we just got a little more snow during the day and nothing that required attention.

Snow guards continue to work...

Once Jim came in from hours of plowing, he turned his attention to working in the control room.  Now that he has his copper pipe, he was able to cut the piece and solder it in place - which required the heat shield to protect other plumbing.

Once everything was done, he was able to use the unions he put in and took apart both the return and supply lines for the stairwell manifold to finish the rest of the soldering.

He then went up to the apartment and was able to finish skim coating the rest of the kitchen!  Making good progress on lots of fronts - even with having to deal with Mother Nature!
High 34/Low 29 - 20" of new snow!
