As always, Jim spent a little time doing desk work in the morning. He called the electric inspector to make sure our inspection period was still active. He also had one question for him and told the inspector that it won't be too long before we're ready for final electric inspection!
Once Jim got to the property, he brought the water softener into the control room today and started investigating it. It looks so amazing! He was showing me all the controls - this should be such a nice system. It monitors your water use and only regenerates when it needs to. All of our other systems were on a set cycle. Now that Jim sees the set up, he may move the water filter down a bit closer to the back wall so that things will fit more compactly.
Jim put another riser up this morning. As promised, this is the back of the risers - you can see the pocket screws attaching the riser to the top tread as well as the screws fastening to the bottom tread.
The front view...
Finally, I was able to get out to the property for awhile - it seems like it had been forever. I started using the hand brush to sweep the walls of the sanding dust.
Meanwhile, Jim finished sanding the front wall of the living room.
Once the second bedroom's walls and closet were all swept, we swept the floor to get the most of the dust out of the room.
Second bedroom is basically done and ready for priming!
At the end of the work day, we headed to Lowe's. Our side shower walls were in and we really had to make some decisions about the shower. We were concerned that the side walls may not fit with our base. We had a good discussion with a fellow from Lowe's and Jim was able to measure the side walls to make sure they would fit. However, Jim knew that the door we had previously bought wasn't going to work with the shower wall surround. Our original intent was to do a tile shower wall but we had decided to go with the surrounds for a multitude of reasons. We did find a shower door that will work and it is also available in oil rubbed bronze which will match the rest of the fixtures in the room, which makes me happy. So we feel really good that we have a plan now. Jim will double check everything and will have to do some wall modifications in the bathroom, but then we'll get the door returned and order the new one.
Today was our 18th anniversary of our church marriage so after we did our errands, we headed down to Saratoga Springs for a bite to eat. We ate at a new place - one that we sampled at ChowderFest - and really enjoyed it. However, it was packed because of March Madness so we had to wait quite a while for a table. But we had a good time and it was nice to get away and have some conversation time!
