3.1.2018

It was a bit of a different kind of day.  I had an early morning doctor appointment and then had errands to do.

Jim worked in the control room this morning soldering all the joints that he figured out yesterday.  He did as much as he could - he needed more copper pipe to continue.

He also needed a few things at the Drywall Center, so at lunch he headed out that way.  He stopped at the apartment on the way home and traded cars with me.  Like he needed something else to do, he's been wanting to change the oil in my car.  So he moved the Bobcat out and backed my car in.

While he was letting it cool, he worked in the apartment on more skim coating.  He finished up the outside wall, then continued around the corner up to where the refrigerator goes.  He also did the sloped ceilings.

Then it was time to change the oil in the car and clean up afterwards.  He had to drive back to the apartment and switch cars once again before heading out to Lowe's.  He picked up the copper pipe he needs and then headed to Home Depot.  He's looking for a certain kind of vapor barrier primer - so far only Sherwin-Williams carries it and they only have it in 5 gallon pails, which is way more than we need for the areas he wants to use it.  However, he bought our first inside paint for the apartment - a 5 gallon pail of primer!  Definitely progress!

Today was definitely the calm before the storm if the forecast holds out.  They are using words like nor'easter and bomb cyclone again - never a good sign.  We are under a winter weather advisory starting tonight through early Saturday morning with a forecast of 6-10" of snow along with wind gusts of 40-50 mph.
