Jim did some plastering this morning, continuing to put last coats on...
Before lunch, he started taking a few forms off just to see how things looked...
They look textbook perfect!
After lunch, he took the rest of the forms off and everything came out just as perfect...
This curve is my favorite - just love out it turned out!
Then Jim had to decide about where to make all the cuts and we started marking the lines...
This is the job I hate for Jim - so backbreaking! He ordered a walk behind cart and adapter for his saw, but it hasn't come in yet. He didn't want to get one but I insisted after the first pour. He recovers quickly but no sense making a hard job harder on your body.
First job was to score the line, using a wood board as a guide. I stood on the opposite edge so the guide was secure. He doesn't use water when he scores so it's a bit dusty. Notice we had masks, ear protection and glasses - always very safety conscious!
All of the lines are now scored...
Time to attach the water and do the cutting. He started on the line on the pole barn slab...
Then moved onto all the cuts in the main slab - and there were so many!
Well...almost. When we were deciding on cuts, we decided where we wanted to cut the end of the pole barn slab so that cuts will work across the next driveway pour. So for this cut, he has to go as deep as possible...
Then he made two cross cuts to help break this portion off...
Power spraying to clean all the dust and concrete mud off...
It looks SO perfect!! Another job well done by our concrete crew!
Going to watch Mass now.
