Concrete day came bright and early - and a bit chilly too!  It was just barely above freezing when we headed outside.  The crew has coffee in hand and are ready to go!

Here comes the truck!

We got our good driver this time so he is wonderful about placing the concrete...

In the thick of it...

This driver just pitches in - quite a difference from the other guy who never got out of his truck!  Jim brings out the power screed...

Bull floating...

Working down the last of this section of the driveway...

Then starting on the area next to the pole barn...

Using the power screed in this area.  This was a tough area because Jim wanted the slope different than the rest of the driveway so it all needed to blend in seamlessly.

Using the bull float on this area...

Then working the concrete back in the main driveway area...

Using the power screed...

Once they were past the curve, then it was just straight down the driveway until the concrete was gone...

I had to hold the cable for the vibrator so I didn't get any pictures, but Kyle again had that job, making sure the concrete was vibrated to the bottom of the slab for good edges.

Using the bull float...

Putting up the final form at the end...

Jim had to shovel the excess concrete away from the back form so that he would be able to get the form off tomorrow...

One last power screed...

Wow - all placed!  They're just working on edges...

Time to broom the finish...

Another length of handle on the broom so that it will span this area...

Continuing down the driveway...

Wow - it turned out so beautifully!

Starting to do clean up...

Time for celebratory cinnamon rolls before we had to say goodbye to Kyle as he headed back to NYC.  Thanks so much, Kyle!

Jim had to use the Bobcat to break up the leftover concrete a few times throughout the afternoon...

A coat of curing agent/sealer...

After lunch and getting everything cleaned up, Jim turned his attention to more plastering in the metal shop...

Another layer on the ceiling in the auto bay...

Somehow he even had energy to get on the treadmill at the end of the day before coming upstairs and calling it a day.  Another very successful day!
