Jim is trying to spend a little time every morning assembling his new shaper.  He was successful working with the company after the tool came with some damage - he got a new fence guard to replace the broken one plus an extra attachment.

Jim worked on making the drywall pieces for the pilaster - he'll have to take them down and stuff insulation behind here, but he wanted to get the pieces cut and in place.

As Jim was transitioning to doing some drywall in the auto bay, he opened up the garage door so he could move the Mini out.  He discovered a baby turtle walking across the driveway!  So mama turtle laid at least one egg somewhere that survived!  After the photo op, Jim moved him away from the driveway heading into the woods.  So cute!

It's hard to tell from these pictures, but he's only about 1-1/2" - tiny!  He even has a T for turtle on his back!

In the afternoon, we headed outside to start thinking about the next section of driveway.  Doing some measuring...

Checking elevations...

Trying to judge elevations without surveying equipment is impossible.  Just looking at this picture, the driveway looks flat from the poured section to where Jim is but it is actually almost a foot lower where he's standing.  Crazy.  I remember when we first started digging for the carriage house we used to think things were completely different than they were.  Sure have to have the right equipment!

Jim is reusing the form he made for the upper curve to start working on this next curve...

Looking good!

Doing some preliminary elevations...

We had decided that we wanted to make a cut between the two sections of the driveway just for aesthetic reasons to match the other cuts.  So Jim got out his concrete saw and started...

It came out perfectly and really makes it look like one piece of concrete!

Using the power sprayer to clean the cut area...

Perfect!

Jim did a little grass cutting at the end of the day before calling it quits!
