Jim continued plastering this morning in the auto bay, working on the hip walls...
Last off angle joint to be taped - harder to reach because this is the corner behind the air compressor.
The hip wall areas are basically done so now Jim is putting another coat on the main walls...
Continuing down the wall - he got to the corner and then cleaned up.
Then it was outside to take the form off the end by the pole barn...
He scooped up some of the loose gravel and built up at the end of the driveway so he can get the Mini out...
Next challenge was to try and break off the extra concrete pieces beyond where he made the final deep cut. He brought up the excavator and strategically bumped the concrete with the bucket...
He was able to loosen it up and then use the teeth of the bucket to drag it out...
And move it out of the way!
That worked well so let's do it again - after loosening it, he was able to grab the second piece and get it out...
Then the last piece...
Jim couldn't get too close with the bucket since it's next to the pole barn, so he did the final loosening with the help of the spud bar...
Moving the final piece away...
Doing a little cleanup...
Looks great!
Jim wanted to create a way for water to flow both away from the carriage house and away from the front of the pole barn. You can see how well it turned out...
We were all ready to celebrate local Saratoga horse Tiz the Law's victory at the Kentucky Derby with special ice cream from Stewart's. Unfortunately, even though he was hugely favored to win, he came in second. We'll still enjoy the ice cream though.
