12.21.2018

It definitely was a strange first day of winter - although it was strange fall weather so I guess we should expect that.  We had lots of rain and drizzle and the temps hit 50 degrees!

That means that the ground is soft - especially the upper driveway where we don't have much gravel down.  So of course that would also mean that this would be the day that the gas company came to top off our tank.  Jim had called this week because we had used about 100 gallons and they said they would call before they came.  Jim just happened to look outside and see the truck backup the driveway.  But we are happy to have the tanks topped off - gas is at a low price right now and we should be good to last the winter for sure.

Because of the weather, Jim spent his time working in the metal shop on the wiring.  He used his hot knife to continue cutting the path for the wire and the receptacle boxes.  He then installed 5 receptacle boxes - each one has to be hammer drilled into the concrete wall and fastened with tap cons.

Then he started running the 120V wire...

 Wiring up the boxes...

Jim also got the junction box finished at the start of this run so that he can make the transition from conduit to using Romex wire.  He also cut and attached nail plates over the flange areas so that he won't accidentally put a screw through the wire when installing drywall.

It was so foggy out and I had to take a mailing to the post office, so my wonderful husband stopped work and drove me there.
