Jim was anxious to get to work this morning.  He realized he needed one more piece of lumber and instead of spending the time going into Curtis Lumber, he went to the little hardware store in town.  Of course he paid more but it saved time.  That was important because for a good chunk of the day, the sun was out and made it not too bad for outside work.

Jim got started on the siding in the back - first two pieces up!

Next piece up in place..

Using the lumber that he bought this morning, he was able to finish the girt on the other side of the back...

Then he was able to get back to siding...

Ta da!  The back is all sided now!  What a big step - the elements are basically being kept out of the barn.

Once it got too dark to work, Jim called it a day and we headed into town.  Now that Jim has a new prescription, we had to take it to the optical store where they will remake his glasses.  All of that had to be done before the end of the year for insurance purposes, so hopefully these will be good.  Then we headed into Home Depot to pick up a few conduit parts as well as an extension bar for the garage door opener.  Jim had wanted the door to be able to open farther so he can pull the Bobcat in if necessary but couldn't make it adjust higher.  He did some research and found with a higher ceiling you need to buy an extension bar.  Unfortunately, that means taking things apart so that will be done on a cold day when we don't need to go out but at least he has the part now.  While we were in town, we stopped and got a few groceries because we are in for some wet and icy weather.  We also went to Pope's Pizza for a Hawaiian pizza - always a treat!  The roads started getting icy on our way home.  A car had gone off the side of the road not too far from our house and the police were out helping.  We were very glad to be home and safe for the night!
