Jim spent time this morning talking to the light manufacturer.  Unfortunately, they have discontinued the style of lights that we have in the wood shop but Jim was able to talk to him and order a very similar one.  The good part of this is that, unlike the others that took months to come in because they were specially-made, these will come in quickly and Jim won't have to do any rebuilding of ballasts.

He worked more on the conduit for the metal shop today.  He needed just this slight bend in the conduit to go from the light fixture over to the box.  So he set up his jig and used his heat gun to bend it.

This is not the best picture because it was dark but Jim has the conduit in place from the light fixture over now.

Cutting more conduit pieces...

After the conduit is cut, he puts a bevel on the edge to make connections better; he also rasps the ends to get rid of any sharpness.

Working on placement - right now everything is just put in place; he'll glue later when everything is the way he wants it.

We spent time cleaning up the metal shop area in anticipation of the new air compressor coming.  Jim moved the chipper out of the way and did some rearranging.  I cut up the mountain of cardboard that accumulates and Jim made a trip to the recycling center to get rid of all the cardboard as well as all the metal scraps he has collected.

That job spurred Jim to have me contact the company he bought the compressor from because he hadn't received any updated shipping or tracking information.  When I called, the representative said that it was out for delivery by FedEx today!  So that caused a slight panic - this isn't a normal delivery - it's an almost 800 pound compressor that Jim will have to offload using the Bobcat.  Jim went down and started getting the Bobcat ready; meanwhile, I made more phone calls.  I called FedEx; it turned out that it was delivered by FedEx to Albany awaiting a truck delivery here.  We were finally able to talk to someone knowledgeable who scheduled the delivery to come on Monday.  They are supposed to call so we'll see how that goes.

After all that, Jim went back to work on our package box, screwing the top pieces on...

Frame is all done!

Then it was cutting plywood and attaching it for the bottom...

And one of the sides...
