Today he spent most of the time working on the framing details on the front. This included figuring out exactly how big he needed the opening for the garage door and then building the framing to match. You can see he put wood on the right side...
As well as the left - these were thin pieces. He made a lot of man glitter (aka sawdust) planing these pieces.
Then he did blocking underneath the header so that the height from where the concrete floor will be to the frame will be correct. Of course all this work was done from the ladder - the ground was a bit sloppy because of the warmer temps, so getting up and down so much made this a messy job as well.
He put another piece of framing at the top of the front wall just to make attaching the siding easier.
Then he put up the first piece of siding on the front! This will help him figure out alignment moving forward. Sure looks good too!
Once all that work was done, he put the siding trim pieces all around the garage door opening. Getting this done is key to being able to finish the bottom channel piece and other trim work.
