He first worked on squaring up the garage door frames so that the opener doesn't have to work as hard pulling it up.
Because he's working by himself, Jim has to come up with inventive ways to do things. He got the end of the rail mounted on the outside wall and then used straps to hold the motor head in place. This also enabled him to figure out placement.
Jim had to make all kinds of custom brackets to hold the motor in place on the ceiling.

The opener came with one small bracket to be used to attach to the garage door as well as the main rail. However, Jim wanted something more secure as well as putting the bracket in a better position in line with the track pieces. So he cut a piece of 1/8" steel and attached it to the garage door...
Then he was able to attach their bracket to that steel plate...

Things are in good shape - still some tweaking to do as well as to get power to this bay but a big accomplishment!
