We stopped at the post office yesterday on the way home from Jim's doctor appointment. While I ran inside, Jim sat in the car and watched the river. He remarked how clear and still it was. When I went to the post office today, it was a different story. It's awfully early in the year to see these ice floats come down from the mountains but the Hudson was full of them today! Shows how cold it has been.
Jim had to start the day by going back to the eye doctor - his new reading glasses weren't the right prescription so he had to have the doctor redo the prescription. The doctor said he has very sensitive eyes to minute changes - I always told Jim he has laser eyeballs so I think I was just proven correct! We still have to go back to the eyeglass dispenser and get them to remake the glasses.
Since it was only in the teens this morning, Jim did some errands once he got back from the doctor. He had to stop at Drywall Center and wanted to talk to a nearby garage door company about getting track for the other garage door. That door will require modification since there isn't a flat ceiling to attach to. He also stopped at Curtis Lumber to get some wood for use in the pole barn.
After lunch, he started working on the back side of the pole barn. He wants to get that finished and then see what kind of siding he has left before he cuts up pieces to use in the front. His first step was to take down the top sections of scaffolding.
He then got the bottom ledger trim attached all the way across the back...
He's working half of the back at a time to use the planks that he has back here on the scaffolding. So he first put up the extra girt at the top for attaching the siding and then got the fascia trim installed.
Bringing in the wood that he bought...
