Meanwhile, Jim got busy in the metal shop continuing to work on the conduit for the wire. He got everything glued together and clamped. It looks really nice - unless you're looking for it, everything blends into the ceiling. He's hoping his additional lights come this week.
He got a call before lunch that the driver was about 15 minutes away. Jim already had gotten the Bobcat out and the forks on, so he drove down to the end of the driveway to wait. The truck came pretty much on schedule and Jim waited for him to get the compressor out.
Wasn't too hard to find it in the back of the truck - it's huge!
Loading it up...
Taking it off the truck...
Once he got it in the driveway, he strapped it down to the forks just for extra security.
Starting the trek up the driveway - he took it very slow just to make sure there were no surprises. It's extremely top heavy because the motor is at the top.
Next step is to get it in the shop...
Setting it close to where it will go. Getting it off the pallet and moved into place will be another huge job, but that's for another day.
All set in the corner - that's a big relief to have this done! The driver was great, the weather cooperated, and all was well!
Later on, Jim unwrapped it just to make sure all looked good. They really did a nice job packaging it, with cardboard supports on all sides and over the valve, plus it was double bagged.
This picture doesn't quite do it justice - it's really big!
In the afternoon, Jim headed out to work on the siding. It was sunny but still very cold, but he got the south gable totally finished! Big accomplishment - plus it looks so good! He even got some scaffolding taken down - he has another row of screws to put in so he needs one section still up. I failed to get a picture, but he started putting up the fascia on the front side too.
Once he came back inside, he opened up the garage door opener and started assembling the track.
