We were under a winter weather advisory today for snow, ice, freezing rain that was supposed to hit in the afternoon. Deciding that traveling in that weather in the dark over the mountains wasn't a good plan, we went to church in Saratoga late this morning. It was a great decision - we weren't home long before the ice/snow mix hit. It's supposed to switch to all snow tomorrow with maybe 1-3".
Once we got back and ate lunch, Jim got busy in the metal shop. Even though he couldn't work outside, he got things ready for when he can continue siding work on the barn. Now that he has the trim up around the garage doors, he's able to continue with the Z-channel on the bottom. He had to make this custom piece for the small area between the garage door and the corner - it's finished on the garage door side and has the corner bevel on the other.
Then he installed the next piece of steel that he uses to attach the light fixture - this will be the last light in this bay.
He also made 2 more of these channel pieces for the lights in the remaining bay.
Then he made these boxes - the one on the left is a junction box that he had to modify. He had to hone out a bigger hole for the conduit to fit in. This is a transition from the wire coming through the conduit into this box and then on the other side the wires will be inset into the foam. The blue box will be for a receptacle mounted on the ceiling for the garage door to plug into.
