More flashing requires more little fastening clips!
Then he got the second stringer totally marked and cut.
When he has a few moments, he continues to work on organizing the workshops. We've emptied cabinets, moved them around, filled them back up and now we're moving the first cabinet into the woodworking shop! I emptied out another cabinet that will also be moved upstairs later. Some of these tasks are good to do when there's a few minutes available and they start making big differences.
Since the plank for the last roof jack is so long, Jim put another plank underneath and fastened the two together. It's much less bouncy and more stable now.
Time to put the flashing up!
It's a chore just getting it up the scaffolding and up so far on the roof without buckling or dropping it!
Putting it into place...
Sitting on the very top ridge to fasten the top and get everything aligned.
Fastening it down with the clips...
Now that all the flashing is done, Jim can continue on with the shingles.
Doing some measuring to make sure that the very top course ends where it is supposed to.
This is the way it looked when I left for the day to go home and get ready for church. Jim stayed an extra half-hour and worked on the valley pieces. I'll update with a picture tomorrow!
