4.10.2016

Still a brisk, breezy day for roof work, but Jim got right to work.  This is a tough section - there are so many hip cuts that need to be made so Jim is up and down a hundred times!

He had to break into a new pallet of shingles - that's evidence of progress right there!

The pallet is too heavy for the Bobcat to lift, so I moved about half to another pallet on the Bobcat.  Then Jim took them down into the lower shop.  We don't like to leave anything out in the open that could be carried off.

Back for load number two...

All stacked up in the shop!

Jim doing one of many, many hip cuts...

I marked all the pieces of copper step flashing that Jim cut yesterday and then he bent what he needed to use for the day.

Progress pictures...

Jim had to put another baby roof jack so that he could reach the top...

End-of-the-day shot...Jim only has 3 more pieces to put up!  Then there is a lot of work to be done at the top - he has to come up with some flashing that will basically saddle the ridge.

We had to cut the day short to get ready for church, but Jim had to get a few things ready for tomorrow.  Our flooring is supposed to come so Jim wants to make sure he's ready.  The forecast is calling for a coating of snow and ice - figures.  Jim took the box truck and parked it at the end of the driveway so he can offload the flooring from their truck into ours.  Then the flooring can just stay there until we have time, energy and space to put it.
