First, Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband!  You never cease to amaze me with your dedication and perseverance.  I love being on this crazy adventure with you - I love you!

May all your wishes come true!

Unfortunately, while I spent the morning celebrating Jim's birthday by getting a root canal, Jim spent part of the morning with an irate person from Lumber Liquidators.  This guy from the local store called Jim and was furious that the delivery had been refused and the flooring was now back at their store.  Jim explained that the delivery company delivered on the wrong day but the guy wouldn't have anything to do with listening.  It escalated badly after that with the guy threatening Jim with more delivery charges if they determined that we cancelled the delivery.  But obviously when the guy called the delivery company, he was told that it wasn't our doing.  He called Jim back - not with an apology - but stressing that it would be delivered on the 11th.  So far our experience with Lumber Liquidators has not been a good one!

The morning improved for Jim - he got a wonderful birthday present from Kyle & Julia!  These are steel sawhorses that he's been wanting - he'll probably use them as stands for the brake.  He put some wood on top and they'll be ready to go so he's excited about getting that all set up.

Jim went back to work on car repair this morning.  Because all of the bolts broke on the latch assembly, he had to drill and tap them out.

Making sure the new bolts fit...

Then putting the latch assembly back together.  It works great for the first time in quite awhile!  Plus the brake fix has the car back in operation, so that's the most important thing.  Jim was able to clean up all the snowy mess from having the car in the garage and got the 4Runner back on the road.

Back in the woodworking shop, Jim finished up all the angles for the upper stair run...

The next project on the agenda was working on the electric - putting his plan in motion for getting the electric wires out of the wall and to the lights.

He made a jig to hold the conduit in place so that he could bend it precisely to achieve the offset he needed.

First bend done...

Then he made another jig and figured out exactly where the next bend needed to be...

This picture shows how Jim brought the conduit out of the wall...however, it was 2-3/4" below where it needed to be because of the wall framing, so it had to be stepped up.  This picture shows that Jim's bends worked perfectly and he was able to use the clips he installed previously to hold the conduit in place.

Then he installed these T-boxes that allow him to run conduit to the light fixture.

Getting the conduit to connect to the light fixture required Jim to take part of the fixture apart so that he could get to the right area and install the box adapter.  But you can see that worked great too - he'll be ready to run wire soon!
