By the time I got to the land, Jim had cut and got the next piece of sheathing up. This was key to see how the sheathing mated up with the angle iron he attached to the hip rafter. It worked out perfectly so Jim was thrilled about that.
Attaching the angle for the next piece...
The Bobcat certainly helps in getting the sheathing up, but trying to wrangle this very heavy piece of sheathing into place is not easy.
Once Jim got it on the roof, he was able to push the piece of sheathing up...
...and get it into place.
Whew. In place and fits perfectly.
Of course, then the hard parts continue - putting all the screws in to fasten it down.
Once that piece was done, Jim put more toe boards to help him be able to work.
Time to cut the next piece.
Pushing it up into place...
Everything has fit perfectly - all the rafters are straight and everything is lining up just as it's supposed to.
Fastening the sheathing down. This is the last square piece - all the rest will be cut on angles and attach to the hip rafter.
Putting the next piece up.
It takes so much force and leverage to get these screws in - not easy when you are hanging on the roof.
Cutting the last piece on this side...
Now there's a long way to go to get the piece of scaffolding into place - thankfully, the pieces are a little smaller, although not much.
Putting the last piece into place...
Fastening it down...
Front side is all done!
The inside view...
Thankfully, we've continued to be blessed with gorgeous weather - as you can see from the crazy blue, cloudless skies lately. It does get dark earlier now so you have to plan accordingly so you aren't trying to clean up in the dark!
