9.21.2015 - Auto Bay Rafters in Place!

The temperature when I woke up this morning was a balmy 39 degrees!  A not-so-subtle reminder that the first official day of autumn in in two days.  Thankfully, the sun came out and warmed the day into the 60s but you can see that Jim alternately has a sweatshirt and a t-shirt on - it was just that kind of day!

Jim got started right away on making more rafters.

Installation time!  Pulling the rafter up into place...

Fastening the last rafter on the front side down at the bottom clip angle...

Working next on two more side rafters...

Putting the rafter into place...

Fastening it down to the hip rafter...

Then it was time to build up yet another section of scaffolding so that Jim could reach the tops of the next rafters.

Working on the last back side rafter...

Fastening it down...

So four rafters up - time to make the last two!

These last two are really long...

Before we can attach the rafters, time to put the last two clip angles into the top of the wall...

Dragging up the rafter...

All of these rafters have fit like a dream!

Attaching it into place at the top...

Putting the last rafter into place...

WOW!  The side view looks amazing!!

Attaching the last rafter at the top...

The front view looks amazing as well!

Jim still has more final fastening to do - he just put a few screws at each connection to make sure everything fit together the way it did on paper.  But besides that...the rafters on the auto bay are done!
