Whew....another warm day and Jim spent a big part of the day wrestling with scaffolding.  He built up another level all the way across this morning.  Then he started working on getting the sheathing screwed down to our new wall.

During lunch, we took a trip out to the cold-formed steel place and picked up a few more studs and pieces of track so that Jim can finish the window framing underneath the headers.

However, once we got back, we decided to work on the ground floor to escape the heat a little and finish up a few details.  We'd love to pour concrete Friday - the weather looks like it will be perfect - so we're waiting to hear if the contractor can make that happen.

Jim used his multi-purpose tool to cut the stack so that the floor drain will be at the right position in the concrete floor.

All cut off!

Putting primer on...

Making sure it's level...

Meanwhile, I put a few more staples on the Pex just for extra assurance.  We just have a few more details to finish up but we'll wait until we see when we can pour.

Jim then turned his attention to finishing up all the screws in the sheathing and putting on the strapping.  It's all done!

Everything is so completely flat and secure - gotta love building with steel!

But then it was time to build up even more scaffolding.  It's really becoming a challenge - we're reaching the end of what we have.  In fact, Jim could only build up another section on half of the back - he'll have to move this section over when he's finished working.  It's compounded by not having all the same scaffolding and pins - not everything is compatible.  But he made it work - although it's up so high now that it's a little shaky when he moves around.

We got the first piece of sheathing up on the next row!

You can see just a glimpse of Jim working on fastening this piece - he got about 80% of the screws in before it was quitting time.

It was a long, hot day for all the physical work Jim had to do but we're happy with the progress once again!
