9.6.2015

We love living in the mountains - even though the days have been hot lately, the nights are cooler.  When I woke up this morning, it was 55 degrees out - a good 10 degrees cooler than back in Ohio, even though we ended up about the same during the day.  Much better sleeping weather - especially since we don't have air conditioning in our upstairs apartment!

Jim started the day off by finishing the remaining screws in the last pieces of sheathing we put up yesterday.  He also took down the top level of scaffolding.  Then we got busy on house wrap!

Once Jim got the top section of wrap done, he took down another level of scaffolding.  It doesn't take much of a breeze to make a sail out of the house wrap!

Then I cut a narrow piece of house wrap and Jim used that to connect the two pieces.

Whew...finally a job he can sit down and do....for a minute at least!

Time to start the next smaller section...he needed just one more hand to start these rolls a little bit easier!

Finally, taping all the seams together.  We ran out of Tyvek tape with just a little bit more to go - Jim can do that from a ladder, because....

...it was time to take down the wall of scaffolding in the back!

Wow - it looks so tall and clean from the back now with all the scaffolding gone!  We continue to marvel that we've built this big structure and there is not one nail in it!  All of Jim's specialty nail guns are gathering dust in a storage unit.  This certainly is one strong building!

Welcome to our scaffolding store...we organized everything on the auto bay side of the building temporarily.

Then we built up another tower on the back of the auto bay because our next step is to work on the roof rafters again!

One more tower set up in front of the auto bay for the rafters on this side.

It was another warm day with a lot of work moving all the scaffolding around and it was a good transition point, so it was nice to cut the day a little short and head to church in Saratoga in the evening.  We'll be at it again tomorrow!
